Eastbourne Beer Festival Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

5 September 2007

Eastbourne Beer Festival

A firm favourite in Eastbourne's events programme, the biggest beer festival in the region returns this autumn for a fifth year, with tickets available online for the first time.

Held from 11 - 13 October, Eastbourne Beer Festival is a highlight of Eastbourne's annual food and drink festival Feastbourne, and after last years sell out success, festival fans can secure their places early by booking tickets through the newly opened VisitEastbourne.com e-shop.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Economy, Tourism & Environment, Councillor Steve Wallis said "It is great to see Eastbourne Beer Festival launching our new online shopping service.  This is an important step forward for Eastbourne's tourist industry in providing visitors with an efficient way to book their holiday from accommodation to maps, guides and festival tickets."

With 120 real ales on order, drinkers can expect to sample the likes of a Fruit Bat, Kamikaze and Ginger Tom, with wines, ciders, perries and international bottled beers also on the menu.  From dark Bavarian beers to fruity Belgian beers in Europe, drink around the World with a Brahma Chop from Brazil or a Mac's Gold from down under.

The Oompah band will provide more foot stomping beer kellar fun along with a new tribute to the 60's from the Tar Babies and EG Riley's Rockin' Soul.  Pub games will be available to play and on Saturday afternoon the festival hosts the biggest Pub Quiz on the South Coast.

Good old fashioned pub grub is on the menu throughout the event and the festival opens each evening, along with a special Saturday afternoon session for families.

Held at the Winter Garden, Eastbourne Beer Festival is organised by Eastbourne Borough Council and CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale).  For more information on tickets and opening times visit www.eastbournebeerfestival.co.uk or telephone 01323 412000.
